Under TDY or PCS orders, the airline will give you a 50% discount if you are an active member of the US Army. The following paperwork must be submitted in order to get pet travel discounts.

1. A current military ID card.

2. Scan copies of orders for temporary duty or permanent station changes.

3. The TDY must be dated no more than 30 days prior to or following the date of the report.

4. Make sure you have your pet's official military documents with you for verification when you transport them.

Health certificate for American Airlines' Pet Policy

Within ten days of your trip, you must bring two copies of the American Airlines pet health certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian. As per American pet policy, the health certificate must have the essential details for your pets' safety and easy travel.

1. The health travel certificate's date needs to be within ten days of the trip.

2. Only when your pet is traveling abroad does the health certificate need to be translated into English.

3. Pet's breed, weight, and birthdate.

4. Your pet must be eight weeks old at the time of the trip.

5. A declaration letter confirming the pet's veterinary examination.
